The XDJ-1000 plays tracks from USB storage or from a connected iPhone, iPod touch or Android smartphone, and reads libraries prepared in the free rekordbox software for PC and Mac. Cues, loops and colour-coded playlists set up there carry over to the player, where the USB port light shows the playlist colour.
The 7-inch full-colour touch screen is split into three sections and shows Wave Zoom, beat countdown, phase meter and key analysis. Tracks can be browsed by list, artwork or a custom view, using the rotary dial or an on-screen Qwerty keyboard for keyword search. Performance functions include Quantized Beat Jump/Loop Move, Quantize to the rekordbox beat grid and Slip Mode.
The unit can connect wirelessly to rekordbox through a wired link to a wireless LAN router (not included). It supports USB-HID control of TRAKTOR PRO 3 and Serato DJ Pro without a control disk, can control rekordbox dj, and is fully MIDI assignable over USB.
