DJM-900NXS

The DJM-900NXS is a four-channel DJ mixer built for club and professional use. The maker states that it uses improved fader technology and audio circuits intended to reduce servicing needs. Audio is digitised by a 32-bit A/D converter and processed by a 32-bit DSP, with balanced hybrid op-amps and output circuits to keep analogue noise down. Each channel has a 3-band EQ isolator.

Effects are a major part of the design. Six sound colour FX (Filter, Crush, Gate/Comp, Dub Echo, Noise and Space) can be applied on every channel. There are also 13 channel-assignable Beat FX, including Delay, Echo, Spiral, Reverb, Filter, Flanger, Roll and Reverse Roll. The X-PAD lets one finger trigger Beat FX and change parameters, and Quantize locks Beat FX, cues and loops to the rekordbox beat grid.

A built-in USB sound card handles stereo signals from 4 inputs and 4 outputs at 96 kHz/24-bit, and a settings utility opens when a computer is connected. Pro DJ Link lets players, turntables or laptops share a source over LAN. The mixer supports DVS control from a laptop or CDJ with supported software (not Serato Scratch Live) and offers fully assignable MIDI control of external devices.
