The DJM-4000 is a four-channel DJ mixer in a rack-mountable format. Each channel has a 3-band EQ isolator for independent control of high, mid and low frequencies. The crossfader is customisable: the output of each channel can be assigned to it, and a curve adjust control sets the preferred crossfader curve.
A built-in USB soundcard lets a laptop be connected so that music stored on the computer can be played and DJ mixes recorded at the same time. The signal path uses a shortened A/D converter circuit and a 24-bit/48 kHz digital sound processor to keep noise low.
The MIC inputs come with some microphone effects and an Auto Talkover function that lowers the master output volume automatically when someone speaks or sings. A single knob adjusts the crossover frequency between the master and subwoofer outputs. A dedicated Master/Zone output lets one DJ run two separate outputs in two locations. The mixer is MIDI-enabled and is presented as a match for the MEP-4000 multi-entertainment player.
