The CDJ-850 is the successor to the CDJ-800MK2. It has full-sized jog wheels and a large display, and offers a feature set modelled on Pioneer DJ's higher-end NXS players. It plays MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF files from USB devices as well as from discs.
The large screen shows track title, artist, BPM and waveforms, and a rotary knob is used to browse and pick tracks. Tracks can be tagged into a Tag List and reordered, so a set list can be built while playing. Auto Beat Loop buttons set loops of 1, 2, 4 or 8 beats that snap to the rekordbox beat grid.
The player is ready for rekordbox, and with the rekordbox Core plan or above it can control rekordbox software on a PC or Mac. A USB-HID interface also lets it control the DJ software of your choice.
