Panasonic S1 II

The S1 II is a full-frame mirrorless body with a 24.1MP partially stacked CMOS sensor, the first of its kind from the maker. The fast readout supports Dynamic Range Boost with 15 stops of dynamic range, and a High Resolution mode that produces 96MP-equivalent images even when handheld. Video options include 5.1K 60p and 6K 30p open gate (3:2), C4K/4K 120p, and oversampled 4K, with REAL TIME LUT and HEIF recording for the workflow.

Autofocus uses Phase Hybrid AF with AI recognition for eyes and faces, including tilted or partly hidden ones, plus Urban Sports and Motorcycle/Bike detection. Burst shooting runs at about 10 fps with the mechanical shutter and up to 70 fps with the electronic shutter in SH Burst or SH Pre-Burst, without viewfinder or monitor blackout. Stabilisation is 8.0-stop 5-axis I.S. with Active I.S. and a cropless mode for wide-angle shots.

Framing is handled by a 5.76M-dot OLED viewfinder and a tilt and free-angle monitor. The dual card slot accepts CFexpress Type B in Slot 1, and the camera can record directly to a USB-SSD. It works with LUMIX Lab, LUMIX Flow, Capture One and Frame.io Camera to Cloud.
