The G97 is an interchangeable-lens Micro Four Thirds camera aimed at stills and video work. For stills it offers built-in Photo Style colour adjustments and a Live View Composite mode, which merges multiple exposures in real time for light trails, star trails and lit scenes without overexposing the background.
Stabilisation is handled by a 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 system rated at 5 stops under the CIPA standard, together with B.I.S. Autofocus uses DFD technology and is rated at 0.07 seconds. Video runs in 4K 30p with no time limit, subject to the camera cooling down in high ambient temperatures. Full HD slow motion (4x) and quick motion (8x) are available, along with V-Log L with 12 stops.
Framing is done on a 1,840k-dot free-angle LCD or a 2,360k-dot OLED Live View Finder. Charging and connection use USB Type-C. The kit model includes a LUMIX G VARIO 12-60mm F3.5-5.6 lens.
