MC Diamond

The MC Diamond is a moving-coil cartridge built around a solid diamond cantilever paired with the Ortofon Replicant 100 diamond stylus. This line-contact stylus has a narrow, long contact surface that follows the shape of the original cutting stylus, which is intended to lower distortion and extend frequency response.

The body is made of titanium using Selective Laser Melting, which allows the density to be controlled for high internal damping and reduced vibration. The magnet system uses selected materials and optimised geometry together with a non-magnetic armature, and the coils are wound with high-purity copper wire.

The Wide Range Damping system has been reworked with a new in-house rubber suspension made from a compound using multi-wall carbon nanotubes. The cartridge weighs 17.5 g, has a low 0.2 mV output and a recommended tracking force of 2.6 g, so it needs a suitably matched tonearm and phono stage. Mounting is by half-inch mount.
