The Getaway Driver is an overdrive pedal that aims at the gain and touch response of an overdriven 1970s Orange head. It has Volume, Bite (tone) and Gain controls, and works internally at 18 V for extra headroom and dynamics while accepting a standard 9 to 12 V DC supply. Running it at 9 V gives more saturation, while 12 V gives more clarity and punch.

A second output carries a CabSim that emulates a miked Orange 4x12 cabinet. It serves as a headphone or line output for silent practice, direct recording or feeding a front-of-house desk, and it can be used at the same time as the normal amp output. The two footswitch functions are a main bypass for the first output and a CabSim-only bypass for the second.

An internal switch changes the pedal from stompbox mode to preamp mode. In preamp mode the output is tuned for going straight into a power amp or an effects return, bypassing the amp's own preamp stage, which suits fly-in rigs and backup setups.
