The V7 is a motorized digital DJ controller built around a seven-inch high-torque aluminum platter that carries a real 7-inch vinyl record on a slipmat. Two torque settings, called modern and classic, change the platter and pitch fader response. Control data is sent over USB at more than ten times the standard MIDI rate. A touch strip called Strip Search works as a virtual needle drop for jumping to a point in a track.
Each deck has five hot-cue buttons, manual and automatic loop controls with loop banks, a BPM analyzer, a 100 mm pitch slider with bend buttons and a zero-point LED. A click knob and backlit buttons let the user browse the library without a mouse or keyboard. Effects controls are included. The housing is all metal.
The unit has a 24-bit USB audio interface with stereo RCA outputs for deck 1 and deck 2, and works with any DJ mixer. Two V7s can be linked, or one unit can control two decks. A dual-USB arrangement lets two DJs on separate computers hand over a set without interrupting the audio. It ships with Serato ITCH and also works with VirtualDJ Pro and Torq, which are sold separately.
