Launchkey 49 is a bus-powered keyboard controller combining a four-octave semi-weighted keybed with 16 RGB pads, eight endless encoders, nine faders with buttons, pitch and modulation wheels, and transport and workflow buttons. A 128 x 64 monochrome OLED display shows parameter values and detected chords.
Creative tools include Scale Mode with 30 built-in scales, three chord modes (Chord Map, Fixed Chord and User Chord), and a generative arpeggiator with an 8-step editor offering tie, accent and ratchet controls. The keyboard can be split into two zones or layered across two MIDI channels, and four Custom Modes can be stored for the pads, encoders and faders. The pads respond to velocity and polyphonic aftertouch.
It has custom scripts for Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, Reason Studios and Ardour, plus HUI support for other DAWs. Connections are USB-C, a 5-pin MIDI out and a sustain pedal jack. The unit is NKS-ready and comes with a software bundle including Ableton Live Lite, Cubase LE, Novation Play and Komplete 15 Select.
