Launch Control XL 3 is a USB-powered controller that combines eight 60mm faders, 24 endless RGB encoders and 16 colour-coded buttons with a transport section and a monochrome OLED display. Faders offer selectable pickup to avoid sudden jumps, and the encoders have adjustable response curves.
Custom DAW scripts cover Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, FL Studio and Bitwig, while other DAWs can be controlled through Mackie HUI. Up to 15 user-defined Custom Modes can be stored using the Components software, so one layout can mix DAW control, plugin parameters and hardware control. Buttons can send MIDI notes, CCs, program changes and keystrokes.
A USB-C port connects to a computer, and 5-pin MIDI In, Out and Out2/Thru sockets allow control of hardware synths and effects without a computer, as well as routing and merging MIDI. The unit is bus powered, and the bundle includes Ableton Live Lite, Cubase LE and plugins from Klevgrand, Baby Audio and Output.
