The TLM 103 - 25 Years Edition is a transformerless pressure-gradient condenser microphone with a fixed cardioid pattern. Its large-diaphragm capsule is derived from the K67/87 capsule used in the U 87, with a wide presence boost above 5 kHz and a controlled, deep low end.
Self-noise is 7 dB-A, and sensitivity is 23 mV/Pa, so the microphone stays quiet even with budget preamps, interfaces or vintage tube gear. It handles up to 138 dB SPL without a pad, giving a dynamic range of 131 dB. Typical uses include speech, vocals, drums, guitar amps, piano, and spot miking of cello and double bass.
The microphone connects through a 3-pin XLR and runs on 48 V phantom power. This edition is a run limited to 500 units with a titanium finish. It ships with a black EA 4 shock mount, an aluminium case and a pair of black gloves.
