The SM 69 fet is a large diaphragm stereo microphone from Neumann's historical catalogue. It is the solid-state variant of the SM 69, which was converted to transistor electronics at the start of a new decade.
Polar pattern selection is done remotely rather than on the microphone body. For that reason the microphone works together with a dedicated power supply and cannot be run from a generic source. This arrangement carries over from the original SM 69.
The model is aimed at collectors, vintage-minded studios and engineers who want a classic single-body stereo microphone with remote control of its pickup pattern.
