M 147 Tube
The M 147 Tube is a cardioid large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone built around the K 47 capsule design used in the U 47. It pairs a tube head amplifier with a transformerless solid-state output stage, aimed at vocals, voice-over and solo instruments in studio use.

The M 147 Tube is a pressure-gradient condenser microphone with a fixed cardioid pattern. Its capsule is the K 47 large-diaphragm design shared with the U 47, housed in a slightly more compact version of the U 47 head grille. The capsule signal is amplified by a circuit built around a selected subminiature triode, followed by a solid-state output stage without an output transformer.
Self-noise is 12 dB-A, which makes it usable on quiet sources. Distortion stays below 0.5% up to 114 dB SPL and rises gradually to 5% at 134 dB SPL, giving a soft saturation on loud material. The frequency range is 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and the transformerless output allows cable runs of up to 300 m. Typical uses are male and female vocals, voice-over, film dubbing and solo instruments.
The microphone connects to the supplied N 149 A power supply through a DIN 8 connector and the KT 8 cable. The power supply has an XLR 3-pin female output. Versions are offered for 230 V Euro, 117 V US and 230 V UK mains, and each set ships in an aluminium case with a swivel mount and dust cover.
