KMR 82 i
The KMR 82 i is a long shotgun microphone with a pressure-gradient interference transducer and a 45° lobe-shaped pickup pattern. It is aimed at ENG, theatre and stage dialogue, and picking out soloists or instruments from a distance.

The KMR 82 i pairs a pressure-gradient condenser capsule with a long interference tube to give a narrow 45° acceptance angle. Its lobe pattern is described as frequency-independent, so off-axis sound is reduced in level without added coloration. This makes it easy to combine with other microphones. The response is linear up to 2 kHz, with a broad treble lift that offsets high-frequency loss over longer distances.
Self-noise is 12 dB-A, sensitivity is 21 mV/Pa and the maximum SPL is 128 dB for 0.5% THD. A high-pass filter reduces wind and handling noise. A low cut switch moves the filter to 120 Hz to offset proximity effect at shorter distances, and a second switch applies an electronic filter that offsets the capsule's treble boost to avoid sibilance on close speech.
The microphone weighs 250 g, has a balanced centre of gravity and draws only 0.7 mA from 48 V phantom power. It connects through an XLR 3 F connector. It is offered in nickel (KMR 82 i) and black (KMR 82 i mt) versions, each supplied with a WS 82 windscreen.
