Cur síos

The KM 76 is a small-diaphragm microphone that replaced the tube-based KM 66 with a solid-state design. It is a historical model in the Neumann range and is listed among the maker's miniature microphones.

Its main feature is a switchable polar pattern, with omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8 settings available on a single capsule assembly. This lets one microphone cover several miking situations without changing hardware.

For powering, the microphone works from T-powering (also called A-B or Tonader powering), the system used by Neumann's solid-state studio microphones of that period. Detailed electrical data, diagrams and accessories are given on separate tabs of the maker's product page, which are not reproduced in the available text.
