The BCM 705 is a moving-coil dynamic microphone built around speech. Its hypercardioid capsule is tuned for close talking, with a gentle presence lift above 2 kHz for intelligibility and a soft bass roll-off that offsets proximity effect. The result is a full low end that stays controlled.
The body is shaped for standard microphone boom arms and comes with an elastic suspension, plus a newly designed internal capsule mount that gives two stages of protection against rumble. An internal foam screen guards against plosives, dirt, moisture and nicotine, and the head grille twists off for cleaning. Because the capsule is dynamic, it handles high sound pressure levels and can also be used on loud vocals, brass and guitar cabinets.
Setup is simple: it connects to a microphone input and works without phantom power. It is offered in a nickel finish (cat. no. 008507) and a black finish, the BCM 705 mt (cat. no. 399008). Optional accessories include pop screens, a windscreen, a swivel joint and a microphone cable.
