The JT80BK is a moving-magnet (MM) phono cartridge from Nagaoka's JEWELTONE JT-80 series, built with a boron cantilever and a solid elliptical diamond stylus. It suits turntable owners who want a detailed top end and well-balanced bass.

The JT80BK is a moving-magnet stereo cartridge with a boron cantilever and a solid elliptical diamond stylus. The tip measures 0.4 x 0.7 mil. The design aims for fine detail in the high frequencies and a balanced sound down into the low range.
It has a nominal output of 3.0 mV at 5 cm/sec and a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Channel separation is 25 dB at 1 kHz and channel balance is within 1.0 dB. The recommended tracking force is 1.3 g to 1.8 g, and the cartridge weighs 6.7 g. Dynamic compliance is 7.3 x 10^-6 cm/dyne.
As a standard MM cartridge it is meant for a 47 kΩ load with 100 pF of load capacitance. The cartridge is sold on its own, and a matching replacement stylus, the JTS-80BK, is listed separately. The JT-80 series launched in October 2020 to mark the maker's 80th anniversary.
