Eight-channel rack-mount power amplifier for custom installation, delivering 50 W per channel into 8 ohms. It is intended for multi-zone residential and light commercial audio systems fed from a central rack.

The CI 980 packs eight amplifier channels into a 2U chassis, so several rooms or speaker zones can be driven from one central rack. Channels are arranged as four stereo zones. Pairs can also be bridged for 120 W into 8 ohms. Each channel takes a line-level input and can be assigned independently, which suits zones of different sizes or speaker types.
The amplifier concentrates on core amplification and has no advanced processing. It relies on external preamps, matrices or control systems. Indicator lamps for each zone show protection status and clipping. An auto-sense mode wakes it from standby when a signal arrives and returns it to standby after 10 minutes without one. Standby draw is below 0.5 W.
Speakers connect through Phoenix blocks, and the power cable is detachable for easy service. A universal-voltage supply is specified for marine or avionics installations. Driver packages are listed for Control4, Crestron, Lutron, NICE, RTI and URC, along with RS232 documents.
