The StudioSilver is a moving-coil stereo phono cartridge built around a nude MicroLinear stylus mounted on a boron cantilever. The generator uses a neodymium magnet with a permendur yoke, and the coils are wound from pure copper made by Ohno Continuous Casting (PCOCC). It is assembled in Japan.
The body is aluminum and has threaded inserts for mounting. Output voltage is 0.35 mV, frequency response runs from 20 Hz to 33,000 Hz, and the recommended tracking force is 1.8–2.2 g. The cartridge weighs 7.2 g, with an internal impedance of 12 ohms and a recommended load of 100 ohms or more.
As a low-output moving-coil design, it connects to the tonearm headshell in the usual way and needs a phono stage that accepts moving-coil cartridges. Static compliance is 40 x 10e-6/dyne and dynamic compliance is 10 x 10e-6/dyne, which helps when matching it to a tonearm.
