ARGON8X is an 8-voice wavetable synthesiser with a 61-note FATAR keyboard with aftertouch, MPE support, a sequencer, an arpeggiator and a 3-slot effects engine. It is aimed at performers, producers and sound designers who want hands-on control and a free editor app.

The ARGON8X is a true 8-voice polyphonic wavetable synthesiser. Each voice has 4 wavetable oscillators (32 in total), drawing on 180 wavetables with 32 static modifiers and 8 oscillator modifier types such as Phase Mod, Ring Mod and Hard Sync. Eight morphable filter types cover 2-pole state variable, ladder and Sallen-Key designs. Modulation comes from three envelopes, two audio-rate LFOs (one poly, one global) and a modulation matrix with 12 sources and 55 destinations.
For performance there is a 512-note realtime sequencer with four animation lanes, a 64-step polyphonic step sequencer, and a programmable 32-step arpeggiator. Chord hold, chord invert, sustain latch and a 4-axis joystick are also on board. The synth accepts MPE controllers. A 3-slot stereo effects engine offers distortion, chorus, phaser, flanger, tremolo, lo-fi, rotary, delays and reverbs. Memory holds 500 patches (300 factory programs), 100 sequencer presets and 100 FX presets.
The steel and aluminium chassis has 29 endless encoders, 24 buttons and a 1.54-inch OLED display. It connects over class-compliant USB MIDI, MIDI DIN, 3.5 mm analogue clock sync, line outputs, headphones, and sustain and expression pedal inputs. The free MODALapp editor runs on macOS, Windows, iOS, iPadOS and Android, and as AU/VST3 plug-ins. Two units can be polychained for 16 voices.
