Stanmore IV

Stanmore IV is a stereo home speaker built around a bass-reflex cabinet with one 5-inch woofer and two 0.75-inch tweeters with waveguides. The tweeters and bass port have been revised compared with earlier models to widen the soundstage and tighten the low end, and the port design also makes placement against a wall less of a compromise. Three Class D amplifiers drive the speaker: 60 W for the woofer and 25 W for each tweeter.

Wireless playback uses Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3 codecs and multipoint connection. Built-in Auracast lets the speaker join a synchronised multi-speaker broadcast from a broadcaster such as the Heddon streaming hub, or from phones and other Auracast sources. Wired sources connect through a 3.5 mm AUX input and RCA inputs; a record player needs a preamp.

Bass, treble and volume knobs, a media jog, source button and a programmable M-button sit on the top panel. The M-button can recall an EQ preference or trigger Spotify Tap. The Marshall app adds EQ presets and room placement compensation. The cabinet is FSC-certified MDF, and parts such as the front cover and knobs are user-replaceable.
