The JCM800 Modified is a 100-watt valve head that keeps the character of the original JCM800 and adds switchable voicing tools. It has two channels that share one set of EQ controls, with treble, middle, bass and presence knobs.
Three switches extend the amp beyond the original layout. A gain boost adds extra gain, a mid-boost lifts the mid-range for more warmth and definition, and a tight switch cuts low frequencies for a more focused sound. These cover a range from warm breakup to high-gain playing.
The power section uses four EL34 valves, with two ECC83 preamp valves and a third ECC83 as phase splitter. Two 1/4" speaker jacks are provided, with a selector for 16Ω, 8Ω or 4Ω loads. The head is designed, engineered and built in England and has a black finish.
