The Little Mark Vintage 58R is a lightweight bass head built around an ECC 83 tube preamp and Markbass's in-house MPT power amp. It delivers 500 W into 4 ohms or 300 W into 8 ohms. Controls and connections sit on the front panel, so the rear carries only the speaker outputs and the AC power socket.

The four-band EQ gives ±16 dB of cut or boost at 68 Hz, 400 Hz, 2200 Hz and 10 kHz. A three-way switch selects FLAT, CUT (scooped mids with stronger lows and highs) or OLD (reduced highs for a vintage voice). A limiter control moves from a modern, transparent response at maximum to a more distorted, older-style behaviour at zero.

For recording and PA use there is a balanced DI output with a transformer, a DI level control and a pre/post EQ switch. The front panel also has a mute switch. An optional dual footswitch controls mute and EQ on/off, and the rear has a send/return loop.
