The № 5805 is a hybrid integrated amplifier with a discrete, direct-coupled preamp, a class AB power section and a phono input for MM or MC cartridges. The power stage is fed by an oversized toroidal transformer of 500+ VA with separate secondary windings per channel. It is rated at 125 W per channel into 8 ohms and nearly 250 W into 4 ohms, and it stays stable down to 2 ohms.
The digital section uses the PrecisionLink II DAC with a 32-bit ESS Sabre converter. It has one asynchronous USB, one coaxial and two optical inputs, handles PCM up to 32 bit/384 kHz and DSD up to 11.2 MHz, and decodes MQA. A Bluetooth receiver supports aptX HD. The line stage can drive headphones directly from the front-panel 6.35 mm jack.
Analog connections are one balanced XLR and two RCA line inputs, an RCA phono input, a variable RCA line output and two pairs of speaker terminals. Ethernet, RS-232, 12 V trigger and IR ports allow system integration. Setup, configuration backup and firmware updates are available through an internal web page, and a Kontrol app and an IR remote are supported.
