The Uber Mic is a USB microphone built around a three-capsule condenser element with 16 mm capsules. It offers four polar patterns (cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8 and single-point stereo), so one unit can cover solo voice, group recording, two-source setups and stereo capture. Frequency response is 30 Hz to 20 kHz, with 16-bit A/D conversion and sample rates up to 48 kHz.
On the body are a USB/direct mixing control for zero-latency monitoring, a microphone volume control and a mute button. An LCD display shows the selected polar pattern and the current control level. A 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) headphone output with its own internal amplifier lets you monitor what is being recorded in real time.
The microphone connects to a computer through a mini-USB port, which also supplies power. It needs no driver on Windows 7 or macOS 10.10.5 and later, and works with iOS devices through the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit, sold separately. It ships with an integrated desktop stand, and a 5/8 inch-27 threaded mount allows use on a boom stand.
