ProFire 2626
The ProFire 2626 is a FireWire audio interface with 26 inputs and 26 outputs, eight mic preamps, and an onboard DSP mixer. It suits home and project studios that need many simultaneous inputs, and it can also work standalone as a preamp or converter.

The ProFire 2626 is a 26-in/26-out FireWire audio interface for PC and Mac recording systems. It records and plays back at sample rates up to 24-bit/192kHz. All eight analog inputs have Octane mic preamps. Each preamp has 48V phantom power and a -20dB pad. The interface uses JetPLL jitter reduction and can take its clock from internal, ADAT optical, S/PDIF or word clock sources.
The onboard DSP mixer and router can pick from up to 52 audio streams and send them to any of the 26 hardware outputs. The mixer has 18 input channels and can build up to eight stereo mixes. Mixer setups can be saved as presets. The master volume knob can be assigned to any or all of the four analog output pairs and to either or both headphone outputs. There are two headphone outputs, each with its own source and level control.
The interface connects to the computer by FireWire 400. Inputs are eight XLR/TRS combo jacks, plus front-panel quarter-inch instrument inputs on channels 1 and 2. Outputs are eight balanced quarter-inch TRS line outputs. Digital connections are ADAT optical (16x16), optical or coaxial S/PDIF, MIDI I/O and word clock I/O. A breakout cable carries the coaxial S/PDIF, MIDI and word clock connections. In standalone mode the unit works as an eight-channel mic preamp, an A/D-D/A converter or a digital format converter.
