The Keystation 49 MK3 is a USB MIDI controller for sequencing and playing virtual instruments on a Mac or PC. It has 49 full-size, velocity-sensitive synth-action keys, and assignable octave buttons extend the playable range. Pitch-bend and modulation wheels, a volume slider, transport buttons and a directional pad let the player control recording software without a mouse or trackpad. The fader, buttons and wheels can be assigned to DAW or plugin parameters.
A 1/4" (6.3 mm) jack accepts an external sustain pedal such as the M-Audio SP2, which is sold separately. The keyboard is compact and light enough for a desk, studio or stage setup.
It connects over USB, is class-compliant and takes its power from the USB port, so no drivers are needed. It can also be used with iPads and other iOS devices through an Apple camera adapter, sold separately. A software bundle is included, with Ableton Live Lite, MPC Beats and a set of AIR Music Tech instruments, plus access to Skoove and Melodics lessons and a sample pack.
