The U305 BPH is a UHF diversity wireless set from the U300 series, supplied with a receiver, a bodypack transmitter and a headset microphone. It uses FM transmission on 12 selectable channels in the 584–608 MHz band and reaches up to 100 m in ideal conditions. Up to six systems can run together in the same frequency band, and a pilot tone squelch keeps the receiver quiet when the transmitter is off or out of range.

The transmitter and receiver are paired with a one-touch infrared sync. The bodypack has a 10 mW output and runs for about 10 hours on two AA batteries. Its power switch includes a standby mode for brief muting, and its input level has three settings so it can also work with active or passive guitars and basses. A lower cut-off of 25 Hz suits 5-string bass.

The receiver has a bright LCD channel display, an LED chain showing signal strength, a balanced XLR output and an unbalanced 6.35 mm output. The output can be switched to instrument level for feeding guitar or bass amplifiers directly. The housing is steel sheet and ABS, and an optional rackmount kit (U300 RK) is available.
