The S8.4 is a front-loaded, vented active subwoofer built around an 8" glass aramid composite woofer and a Class D amplifier rated at 109 W continuous. It reaches down to 29 Hz in the stated bass extension, with a frequency response of 34.5 Hz to 133 Hz and a maximum peak SPL of 112.8 dB.
A four-position crossover control helps match the sub to existing monitors, and polarity and input sensitivity controls allow further adjustment. A footswitch input (footswitch sold separately) turns the sub and crossover filter on or off, so the monitors can be heard full range without powering the sub down. A ground lift switch is included to deal with ground loops. The cabinet is reinforced MDF with a lower profile and a front-firing port, and an EVA isolation pad is fitted.
It connects with XLR, 1/4" TRS and RCA inputs and outputs, left and right, and runs from 100–240 V AC mains. The unit is covered by a 3-year warranty.
