The KNS-8402 is a closed-back, around-the-ear dynamic headphone designed to limit headphone bleed into microphones while recording and to block outside sound while listening. It uses 40mm neodymium transducers with a 5Hz–23kHz frequency response, 36 ohm nominal impedance and a calculated maximum SPL of 124 dB.
The body is impact-resistant plastic, and the earcups sit on acoustic memory foam pads with leatherette covers. A self-aligning yoke helps the cups fit the head, and the nominal headband pressure is 4N. The cable, headpad and ear cushions are all replaceable, so worn parts can be swapped without replacing the headphones.
The 2.5 m detachable cable ends in a gold-plated 3.5mm stereo plug, with a screw-in 1/4 inch adapter fitted. A low-profile inline volume control is included and can be detached or replaced. A protective soft bag, an anti-microbial cleaning cloth and a user manual are supplied.
