XE20

The XE20 combines a weighted 88-note keyboard with two concert grand piano sounds, a German and an Italian model, and a library of more than 700 other sounds including electric pianos, organs, pads, brass, strings and drum kits. The keys are graded, so the lower register feels heavier and the touch lightens toward the treble.

Its Styles function builds a full backing band from the chords played with the left hand. More than 280 styles cover genres from around the world, each with four variations, an intro and an ending. Performances can be recorded, and Song Mode plays back demo songs plus MP3, WAV and Standard MIDI Files from a USB flash drive.

The body is 34 cm deep and weighs 11.4 kg without the music rest and stand. Controls sit on the front panel, and the redesigned speakers aim to keep bass and drums audible while the piano stays clear. A USB connection to a computer or iOS device lets it work with the bundled Korg Module and Gadget 2 Le apps, and it comes with a three-month Skoove Premium trial.
