The i3 combines a PCM sound engine and two stereo effects processors with an arranger interface drawn from Korg's Pa series. It holds over 800 instruments, 200 Sound Sets, 270 Styles, 59 drum kits and a GM2 sound set. Each Sound Set can play up to four sounds at once, three layered on the upper keys and one split to the lower keys. Each Style has four variations, an intro, an ending, a break and a count-in, with up to eight backing parts that follow chord changes.
The keyboard has 61 full-size velocity-sensitive keys with three touch curves, transpose buttons, an X/Y joystick, eight Chord Buttons and a Grand Piano button. Settings can be stored in 10 banks of 5 Set List locations. A 16-track linear sequencer records ideas, exports MIDI or 44.1 kHz WAV files and plays back WAV and MP3 audio.
There are two 1/4 inch outputs, a stereo headphone jack, an 1/8 inch audio input, a foot controller jack, MIDI out and two USB ports, one for a flash drive and one for a computer. It runs on batteries or the supplied AC adapter. A software bundle is included.
