The Fives II are active speakers built around an AVR-style electronics package developed with Onkyo. The design allows content decoding and processing, including Dolby Atmos playback from a single pair. A one-piece BMC baffle with a curved radius is used to reduce resonance and widen the soundstage off-axis.
An HDMI 2.1 input and output let the speakers connect to a TV over a single eARC cable while passing video and audio from other devices through. The HDMI implementation supports 4K/120, VRR, ALLM and HDR for gaming, as well as lip-sync correction and control of volume from the TV remote. A separate analog input includes a built-in phono stage, so a turntable can be plugged in directly without an external preamp.
Built-in streaming covers Google Cast, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect. Volume and source can be set with a metal wheel and button on the top edge, with the backlit remote, or in the Klipsch Connect mobile app, which also handles presets and playlists. A Red Oak wood veneer finish is among the options.
