The Surround 3 is a pair of wood-built wireless speakers made to extend a Klipsch sound bar into a surround setup. Once connected to a Cinema 600, Cinema 800 or BAR 48, the sound bar decodes Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio automatically and sends the rear channels to the speakers.
Placement is flexible because the speakers need no wiring between them and the bar. They can stand on a tabletop, sit on speaker mounts, or be fixed to a wall using the built-in 1/4-20" inserts. Volume of the surrounds is adjusted from the sound bar remote.
Connection is handled by a pre-paired USB transmitter. It plugs in behind the wood end cap of the sound bar, where it is concealed, and links the speakers to the bar wirelessly. The speakers are described as quick to connect to the Cinema 600 and to the BAR 48 with its wireless subwoofer.
