R-50C

The R-50C is a center channel speaker for home theater and multichannel music setups. It pairs a 1-inch Linear Travel Suspension aluminum tweeter with Kapton suspension with two 5.25-inch spun-copper thermoformed crystalline polymer woofers. The tweeter sits behind a redesigned 90° x 90° Tractrix horn with larger outer dimensions, intended to control directivity over a wider range of frequencies.

A tapered array crossover improves dispersion between the woofers and the tweeter, which is aimed at better midrange definition and dialogue intelligibility. The woofer cones are angled more steeply than in earlier designs, a feature carried over from the Reference Premiere series.

The cabinet is a slim design built from reinforced 3/4-inch MDF to reduce vibration. It uses hidden fasteners and low-profile magnetic grilles so that it sits unobtrusively beneath a flat-screen TV. A spec sheet and product manual are available as downloads from the maker.
