The R-26FA is a floorstanding speaker with two sound paths. The main drivers face forward for conventional stereo or surround playback, while an elevation channel in the top of the cabinet angles sound towards the ceiling so it reflects down to the listener, producing the overhead effects used in Dolby Atmos content.
High frequencies come from a 1-inch aluminium diaphragm compression tweeter mounted in a 90x90 square Tractrix horn, a design the maker uses to control how sound disperses into the room. Low frequencies are handled by two 6.5-inch copper-spun IMG woofers that are magnetically shielded. A front-firing port supports bass output, and a removable grille covers the front baffle.
The cabinet measures 39 x 7.8 x 16.25 inches. The speaker is no longer sold by the maker, which lists the R-605FA Dolby Atmos floorstanding speaker as its newer version.
