The Heritage Headphone Amplifier combines a headphone amplifier with an audiophile-grade digital-to-analog converter. The enclosure is formed aluminum finished with genuine walnut veneer, and the switches, knobs and controls are weighted, anodized aluminum made to give a solid, tactile feel.
All analog switching is done through relays, which keeps the signal path clean while preserving a vintage operating feel. Two amplifiers are used to provide a balanced output, and the design is specified for low distortion.
Digital audio arrives through an asynchronous USB interface, and the unit shows a sample rate notification so the incoming format can be seen. It offers a range of inputs and outputs for connecting different sources and headphones.
