R5 Meta

The R5 Meta is a slim, passive three-way bass-reflex floorstander. It combines a 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array, which places the tweeter at the centre of the midrange cone, with two 130 mm hybrid aluminium cone bass units. The tweeter is a 25 mm vented aluminium dome fitted with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a maze-like structure that absorbs unwanted sound from the rear of the driver.

Other design details include Shadow Flare, a profiled transition around the Uni-Q array intended to reduce cabinet diffraction at high frequencies, and constrained layer damping inside the cabinet using internal braces. The bass ports have flexible walls shaped with computational fluid dynamics to delay turbulence. The speaker is designed to be used with or without its magnetically attached microfibre grilles.

The R5 Meta connects to an external amplifier through its speaker terminals and needs 15-200 W of amplifier power. It can be used as a stereo pair or alongside other R Series models in a home theatre setup. It is offered in Black Gloss, White Gloss and Walnut finishes, and ships with a plinth and spikes, port bungs and a grille.
