The Kube 15 MIE is a sealed-cabinet powered subwoofer built around a single 15-inch long-throw, front-firing driver with a large cone area and high excursion. It is driven by a 300W RMS Class D amplifier and reaches 20Hz–140Hz (±3dB). Its sealed design is meant to make placement easier, and it is the Kube model with the highest output.
Tuning is handled by Music Integrity Engine (MIE), a DSP system that includes iBX Intelligent Bass Extension for deeper bass at any listening level. Three room-position EQ presets adapt the sound to where the subwoofer sits. Power behaviour has three modes: Auto wake up, which detects an audio signal; Always on; and a 12V trigger for automatic wake-up.
Inputs are RCA phono sockets and speaker-level inputs, plus KEF SmartConnect. An expansion port accepts the optional KW1 wireless subwoofer adapter kit, so the subwoofer can be placed without a cable run to the amplifier or receiver.
