The Ci5160RLM-THX is a flush-mounted speaker from KEF's R Series architectural range. It combines a 6.5-inch Uni-Q mid/high driver with a 25 mm vented aluminium dome tweeter that uses Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), developed jointly with Acoustic Metamaterials Group. Four 6.5-inch hybrid aluminium bass drivers handle the low end, and the unit carries THX Certified Ultra certification.
The Uni-Q array works as a single point source, which widens the listening area and spreads sound more evenly. The baffle is 5.5 mm precision-machined aluminium, designed to damp vibration. Finish is Aluminium Silver, with the Uni-Q and bass drivers colour-matched to it.
The speaker is a passive model and needs an external amplifier rated at 50–350 W. It installs into a wall cut-out with a supplied template and gasket. A paintable magnetic metal grille is included, and an optional black cloth grille is available, so the speaker can blend into the room.
