The Ci200QS is an architectural speaker designed to be built into a wall or ceiling. It uses a Uni-Q driver array, in which the tweeter sits at the acoustic centre of the bass/midrange cone so both act as a single point source. This spreads sound widely and evenly through the room, so fewer speakers may be needed to cover a space.
The Ultra Thin Bezel (UTB) design leaves only a very slim visible rim around the grille, which gives freedom in choosing where the speaker goes. The driver pair is a 200 mm low-frequency unit with a 25 mm Uni-Q high-frequency unit, crossed over at 2.5 kHz, with a stated response of 45 Hz to 20 kHz (±6 dB) in an open-backed installation.
It is a passive speaker driven by an external amplifier rated for 10 to 150 W. It needs a 238 x 238 mm cut-out and 99.8 mm of mounting depth from the surface. Further details are available through KEF's Ci software download page.
