The Ci160QS is a square architectural speaker for mounting in a wall or ceiling. Its narrow Ultra Thin Bezel leaves only a slim visible rim around the grille, so it sits almost flush with the surface. It belongs to the Ci-Q Series.
The driver is a Uni-Q array, with a 19 mm (0.75 in.) tweeter placed at the acoustic centre of a 160 mm (6.5 in.) bass/midrange cone. Both act as a single point source, so sound spreads widely and evenly through the room. This allows more freedom in where the speakers are placed and can reduce the number of speakers needed. The frequency response is 38 Hz to 34 kHz (±6 dB) in an open-backed installation, with a 3.0 kHz crossover and 89 dB sensitivity.
The speaker is passive and is driven by an external amplifier rated for 10 to 125 W. It needs a 194 x 194 mm cut-out and a mounting depth of 91 mm. It weighs 1.88 kg. Further details are available on the maker's Ci software download page.
