The Ci160.2CS is an in-wall speaker in KEF's Ci-C Series, the entry point to the maker's custom-installation line. It uses a Uni-Q driver array in which a 16 mm aluminium dome tweeter sits at the acoustic centre of a 160 mm bass/midrange cone, so both drivers work as a single point source and spread sound evenly across the room.
The cabinet is open-backed and has a shallow mounting depth of 84.5 mm from the surface, which allows installation in places where deeper speakers would not fit. A magnetic grille and ultra-thin bezel keep the front nearly flush, and both the grille and the bezel can be painted to match the wall or ceiling.
The speaker has weather-resistant treatment against moisture and UV light and is IP64 certified. It is a passive 8 ohm design, recommended for use with amplifiers rated 10-100 W, and connects to an external amplifier. Further details are listed on the maker's Ci software download page.
