The Ci130.2CR is an in-ceiling speaker in KEF's Ci-C Series, the entry point to the maker's custom-installation range. It uses a Uni-Q driver array in which a 16 mm aluminium dome tweeter with a waveguide sits at the acoustic centre of the 130 mm bass/midrange cone. The two drivers act as a single point source, so sound spreads widely and evenly through the room.
The cabinet is very shallow, with a mounting depth of 77.7 mm from the surface, so it can go into ceilings where deeper speakers will not fit. The speaker has a weather-resistant treatment against moisture and UV light and an IP64 rating. Ultra-Thin Bezels and a flat magnetic grille keep it visually discreet, and both the grille and the bezel can be painted to match the ceiling.
It is a passive 8-ohm speaker for use with a separate amplifier rated at 10-80 W. Software for the Ci range is offered through the maker's Ci software download page.
