The EON718S is the subwoofer in JBL's EON700 powered PA range, which also includes 10-, 12- and 15-inch full-range speakers. It uses a newly engineered 18-inch woofer and covers 40–120 Hz (±3 dB), with a maximum peak SPL of 131 dB.
Onboard dbx DSP provides parametric EQ, polarity inversion and speaker delay, adjusted from a backlit colour LCD screen. A built-in 2-channel digital mixer lets the unit act as a compact system hub, and the JBL Pro Connect app for iOS and Android allows settings to be changed remotely from anywhere in the venue.
The cabinet is birch plywood with Duraflex paint and a metal grille. Two ergonomic handles help with transport, the enclosure is designed to stack, and it can be stored and used in a cardioid-mode arrangement. A single-angle top pole-mount socket accepts a speaker pole for mounting a top speaker. The unit comes with a 7-year warranty counted from the original purchase date.
