The Clip 4 is a compact oval-shaped Bluetooth speaker with a 5 W output and a stated frequency response of 100 Hz–20 kHz. Its body is wrapped in coloured fabric, and a redesigned carabiner is built into the housing so it can be attached to a belt, strap, bag or buckle.
The speaker has an IP67 rating, so it is protected against dust and can be submerged in 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes. It is not designed to float. A rechargeable battery provides up to 10 hours of playback and takes about 3 hours to charge over USB-C.
It streams wirelessly from phones, tablets and other Bluetooth devices using Bluetooth 5.1 with the A2DP 1.3 and AVRCP 1.6 profiles. There is no built-in microphone, so it cannot be used as a speakerphone, and it does not link to other JBL portable speakers. Battery state is shown by an LED indicator only, as the JBL app does not support this model.
