The Authentics 300 is a battery-equipped home speaker built around two 25 mm tweeters, a 5.25-inch woofer and a down-firing 6.5-inch passive radiator. It is rated at 100 W maximum output with a 45 Hz–20 kHz (-6 dB) frequency response. The enclosure has a leather-like finish, a metal carry handle and a Quadrex-style grille, and parts of it use recycled fabric, plastic and aluminum.
Streaming runs over dual-band Wi-Fi, with AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, Alexa Multi-Room Music and Spotify Connect supported. Bluetooth 5.3 is available for direct pairing, and a 3.5 mm input, Ethernet and USB are provided (USB playback only on the US version). Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa can be active at the same time, subject to country and language availability. The speaker tunes itself to its surroundings at each power-up, and volume, bass and treble can be set on the unit or in the JBL One app.
The built-in 4800 mAh battery gives up to 8 hours of playback and charges in about 3.5 hours through the supplied AC power cable; USB-C charging is not offered. The speaker has no IP rating. Several units can join a multi-room group through the Google Home or Alexa apps, but the maker states that two units cannot be paired as a left/right stereo pair.
