AXE I/O
AXE I/O is a USB 2.0 audio interface with 2 inputs and 5 outputs, built for recording guitarists. It combines a selectable triple-topology instrument input with adjustable impedance, two mic preamps, a dedicated Amp Out for reamping and tone modeling, and MIDI and pedal control.

AXE I/O is a 2-in/5-out desktop interface and controller aimed at guitar and bass players. The main instrument channel offers three input topologies: PURE (transparent), JFET (a Class A buffer with a mild midrange emphasis) and ACTIVE (for active pickups). A Z-Tone impedance control varies the load seen by the pickups from 1 MOhm down to 2.2 kOhms, which changes the tonal character of the instrument.
Two front Hi-Z inputs take guitars and basses, and two rear combo inputs with phantom power take microphones and line sources. A dedicated Amp Out supports reamping and capturing Tone Models of amps and pedals with TONEX on Mac/PC, and is described as low-noise and helping avoid ground loops. A Preset knob can browse AmpliTube presets or be assigned to any MIDI CC, and two controller inputs accept expression pedals or single/double switches. A built-in tuner is on the front panel.
The unit connects to Mac or PC over USB 2.0, with MIDI in and out for floor controllers and other MIDI gear. Conversion runs up to 24-bit/192 kHz. A Control Panel application handles routing, phantom power, ground lift, sample rate and controller assignment. AmpliTube 5 SE and TONEX SE are included.
