The QCon Pro X is a USB-connected control surface that puts mixing and transport functions on hardware. It has eight channel strips plus a master fader, all motorized and touch-sensitive with 10-bit resolution. Eight dual-function encoders with LED rings handle pan, plug-in and EQ parameters, while two 2x56 backlit LCDs show channel names and values. A 12-segment LED meter bridge, a time display in SMPTE or BBT, a jog/shuttle wheel and illuminated transport, zoom and automation buttons complete the layout.
It talks to software through Mackie Control, or Mackie HUI for Pro Tools. Preset support covers Cubase, Nuendo, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic, Reason, Studio One, Bitwig, Samplitude, Reaper, FL Studio, Mixbus, Digital Performer and Audition, with MIDI Learn mode for other DAWs. Plug-in parameters can be controlled in VST, RTAS, DirectX and AU formats, and a FLIP button moves them onto the faders.
Several units can be combined: QCon Pro XS expanders add channels in groups of 8, up to 64 channels, though the limit depends on the DAW. Firmware is updated over USB with the iMap software. Apple Silicon compatibility is limited because of the built-in USB hub; a powered hub is recommended. A bundled software package is included.
